The Calgary Stampeders football club has confirmed a former player has been arrested and charged, but won’t offer any further comment.
Reports say former Stamps running back Joffrey Reynolds was arrested early Saturday morning after a domestic dispute in Eau Claire in downtown Calgary.
Reynolds has been charged with housebreaking and assault causing bodily harm.
He was released on Sunday on $3,000 bail, under certain conditions.
In a statement issued Monday morning, Lyle Bauer, the president of the Stampeders, says:
“This situation – which involves a former member of the Stampeders – is before the courts and it would be inappropriate for the Calgary Stampeders to offer comment.”
Reynolds was let go from the team ten months ago.
