SASKATOON – RCMP were called out to Dakota Dunes Casino, located 20 minutes south of Saskatoon, after reports of a bomb on site on Saturday evening.
Police received the call around 8:20 p.m. and quickly evacuated the building. No injuries were reported.
One patron told Global News casino goers were told to evacuate over a loud speaker at around 9 p.m. She said staff were ushered onto shuttle buses, while police blocked off the main road into the casino for a couple of hours.
The investigation into the bomb threat led police to a suspect at a Saskatoon hotel.
A 38-year-old man has been charged with uttering threats, mischief and public mischief.
He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 23.
Dakota Dunes Casino is located on the Whitecap First Nation on Highway 219 south of Saskatoon.
