Teen suffers stab wound to leg at Toronto elementary school

Toronto police say a 16-year-old male suffered a stab wound at an elementary school on Wednesday.

Const. Caroline de Kloet told AM 640 that officers were dispatched to Greenland Public School at 15 Greenland Road south-east of Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East around 10:39 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found the victim conscious and in stable condition on the school grounds. The teen was taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening leg injury.

It’s unclear whether the male suffered the wound on school property or somewhere else, and police have not been given information on how the stabbing occurred.

No suspect information is available at this time. The school was not placed in hold and secure during the incident.
