Fire crews battle 2-alarm blaze at North York home

Toronto emergency crews were called to a two-alarm blaze at a residential building in North York Thursday evening.

The incident happened on Ellerslie Avenue, southwest of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue West, at around 7:40 p.m.

Toronto police said they received multiple reports of an explosion, but officials were unable to confirm if an explosion took place.

Toronto Fire Services said smoke and flames were visible upon arrival at the detached house.

A spokesperson said a patient is being treated for undisclosed injuries.
