Peggy’s Cove lighthouse to get new coat of paint

Visitors to one of Nova Scotia’s most iconic tourist attractions will soon notice it’ll have a new look.

The Peggy’s Cove lighthouse is getting a fresh coat of paint courtesy of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, who are using the project to train their members.

All of the work will come courtesy of union members who have volunteered their time to paint the lighthouse.

The current lighthouse is said to be among the most photographed in the world and has stood in place since its construction in 1914. However, a lighthouse was originally built on the site in 1868.
