Laval drug raid leads to 7 arrests

Laval police raided the Bistro Bar Patriote on Boulevard Saint-Elzéar Ouest and a home in Vimont as part of a drug investigation Tuesday night.

The drug bust led to the arrest of seven men aged 20-60.

One of the men was transferred to Immigration Canada under the suspicion of being in the country illegally.

“Twenty-five officers seized a long gun, $10,000 cash, 100 grams of cocaine (street value of $10,000), 250 grams of marijuana (street value of $10,800) and approximately 10 bottles of illegal alcohol,” said Lieut. Ville Mure of the Laval police.

Police laid several charges including trafficking of illicit drugs, possession with the intent of trafficking illicit drugs and possession of an illegal firearm.

The investigation, named Projet Domino, began in October 2016.

The same bar was busted in 2015 in a drug trafficking investigation and for operating with a suspended alcohol permit.

The home was previously raided in 2005 in a drug trafficking investigation.
