Frustrated Twitter users also reported being unable to collect Shoppers Optimum points; the retailer encourages customers to keep their receipts until the issue is resolved.
“Shoppers Optimum points from transactions made during this time can be added to the customers’ accounts once the system is restored,” the statement said.
Pharmacies are also still able to fill prescriptions, the retailer said.
