In 2011, about 8,000 teddy bears were tossed onto the ice when the Oil Kings scored their first goal. This year, the fans at Rexall Place broke that record with a whopping 10,835 teddy bears.

Santas Anonymous is still collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys for less fortunate families this Christmas, and volunteers are looking for a few items in particular.

“We’re always looking for toys for the youngest and the eldest. The youngest (being) babies up to age three. The eldest (being) eleven and twelve years olds, both boys and girls,” explained Janet Pearce with Santas Anonymous.

For more information on how you can donate you can call 780-428-8697 or visit www.santasanonymous.ca.
