Manitoba Moose end 6 game slide to enter holiday break on a winning note

True North Sports & Entertainment

Kyle Connor’s second career AHL goal propelled the Manitoba Moose past the Iowa Wild.

The Moose ended a six game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over the Wild on Monday at the Wells Fargo Arena. Connor scored with just 1:13 left in regulation to break a one all deadlock as the Moose defeated the Wild after dropping their last four straight meetings.

Moose forward Chase De Leo notched the only other goal for Manitoba. His sixth goal of the season midway through the first period opened the scoring. Teemu Pulkkinen tied the game late in the first period and the two teams would play more than 40 minutes of scoreless hockey before Connor scored the game winner. Connor’s goal came with some controversy as it appeared Kevin Czuczman closed his hand on the puck to start the play that set up the winning goal.
