As we head into the holiday season, there’s a push in Kelowna to give a different kind of present this year.
Canadian Blood Services is hoping you’ll roll up your sleeve to give the gift of life.
“The need for blood is constant throughout the holidays and year round,” Gayle Voyer with Canadian Blood Services said.
The annual holiday “Give” campaign kicked off Monday and runs through to New Year’s Eve to fill the 14,000 open appointments across B.C.
Staff were out at Kelowna’s Okanagan College Monday to try and drum up new recruits.
Canadian Blood Services needs 2,200 new donors to fill the need.
The Kelowna clinic on Dilworth Drive is open Monday’s from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and every other Saturday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
If you’d like to donate, or find out more information, you can visit the Canadian Blood Services’ website.
