Lengthy Sask. police investigation yields $30K, 1K grams of cocaine

A lengthy Saskatchewan police investigation has resulted in the disruption of a “sophisticated drug distribution network.”

On Sunday, members of the Prince Albert Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) made arrests after a five-month investigation known as Project F-Kahuna.

Over 35 officers were involved in the arrests of seven people during three search warrants in Prince Albert and two in rural locations near the city.

An estimated $30,000 in Canadian currency, 1,035 grams of cocaine and 10 grams of marijuana were seized. Four vehicles, an ATV and numerous electronics were also confiscated by police.

CFSEU officials said the seven people, ages 21 to 37, were arrested for their involvement in a “sophisticated drug distribution network.”

Kole Marchant, Alana Primeau, Cody Evans, Paige Klughart-McCormick, Jolie Bird, Salvin Mudaliar and Yousef Ismaeil face a total of 32 charges.

The accused all appeared in Prince Albert provincial court on Monday. Six of them were remanded in correctional centres while one was released on a recognizance to later appear back in court.

The investigation is ongoing.

CFSEU is a Saskatchewan-wide policing task force formed to disrupt and dismantle criminal organizations.
