After an unseasonably warm start to November, Environment Canada issued snowfall warnings for several areas south of Edmonton Tuesday night. The warnings were dropped by Wednesday morning, but several regions woke up to a fresh blanket of snow.

According to Environment Canada, more than 10 centimetres of snow had fallen in Pigeon Lake Tuesday evening and that more heavy, wet snow was still possible later in the night.
As of 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, snowfall warnings were in place for the following areas:
- Drayton Valley – Devon – Rimbey – Pigeon Lake
- Leduc – Camrose – Wetaskiwin – Tofield
Just after 9 p.m., the RCMP issued a hazardous road advisory for Highway 36 between Killam and Alliance because of snow, ice and poor visibility.
Environment Canada also warned “rapidly accumulating snow” could make travel difficult south of Edmonton.
If drivers experience reduced visibility, they are urged to turn on their lights and maintain a safe following distance.
