Police in Wyoming, Mich., have released new videos and pictures showing a suspect allegedly preparing his home before the so-called Craigslist killings in 2014.

The surveillance video shows 31-year-old Brady Oestrike carrying chains and hanging ropes into his basement. The video is dated July 5, 2014, one full week before the murders.

Another video, dated July 12, shows Oestrike loitering in the basement and his bathroom.

Hours later, Brooke Sloccum, 18, and Charles Oppeneer, 25, were supposed to meet with Oestrike after connecting on the online marketplace. Oestrike allegedly was to pay the pair for sex.

Police alleged Oestrike killed and beheaded Oppeneer the night they met up. However, police believe he kept Sloccum – who was eight months pregnant – captive in his basement for five days.

When police identified Oestrike as a suspect, a day after finding Oppeneer’s body, they prepared to raid his house.

Before they entered, Oestrike drove off, beginning a chase that ended with his suicide. Police found Sloccum’s body in the trunk. She had been strangled.

This week, police released hundreds of pages of reports and pictures, along with the surveillance video, in accordance with a Freedom of Information Act request, Target 8 TV reports.

The report says more video, which was not released, shows Sloccum still alive and being held captive in Oestrike’s house. The last tape is dated July 17, 1 p.m.

Bloody clothing, sex toys and weapons were also found inside his house, according to the Detroit Free Press.

In an update to reporters Thursday, Wyoming Police Chief James Carmody called the case one of the “most brutal” he’s ever seen.

“I think it was pure evil from start to finish,” Carmody said, according to MLive.com.
