Lindsay Lohan has caused a fresh wave of confusion while out in Athens, Greece recently to promote her new club in the city (named Lohan, naturally).

Lohan, 30, was recorded showcasing a different tone to her speaking voice, and she says it’s a combination of the languages she knows or is learning, incorporating multiple accents from around the world.

“It’s a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn,” she told the Daily Mail

It turns out her language list is rather lengthy: “I’ve been learning different languages since I was a child. I’m fluent in English and French, can understand Russian, and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic.”

Despite being born and raised in the United States, the actress’ accent had aspects of Irish, British and other European inflections as she spoke to reporters.

When Lohan was asked if all of the attention over her new accent surprised her, she told the Daily Mail, “Nothing really shocks me these days. I moved to London four years ago and the taxes seem to be getting higher.”

The Freaky Friday star even took to Twitter, asking fans what she should name the new accent. “What should I call my new accent? I’m thinking #LILOHAN,” she tweeted.

While she’s not the first to take on a new accent — Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow adopted British accents upon marrying their British husbands Guy Ritchie and Chris Martin — her recent speech is concerning after increasingly troubling behaviour from the actress.

She made headlines for her dramatic break-up with Russian boyfriend Egor Tarabasov and for suffering a gory injury in a boating accident in early Oct. where she ripped off part of her finger.

Recently, in honour of her new eponymously named club, she said she wanted to help Syrian refugees by sending them energy drinks.
