WATCH ABOVE: 'Lady' an escaped python who gained notoriety after evading capture in Verdun and opening a Twitter account to share its fictional adventures, has been found. Authorities captured the slippery snake Monday afternoon – Oct 3, 2016

About a month ago, Global News brought you the story of Lady, a python on the loose in Verdun.

Lady had last been seen living inside the walls of a house before slipping away from animal control.

The borough’s mayor took to twitter Monday to officially announce the animal’s capture.

The four-foot long snake escaped from its owner’s apartment near the end of August.

Unfortunately it will not be returned to the owner, as a Verdun bylaw bans people from owning pythons in the borough.

The snake, however, has since become an internet celebrity with a parody twitter account, keeping locals up to date with a snake’s-eye view of the city and taunting animal control.
