Animal control has lost track of a python after it was spotted Monday living inside the walls of a Verdun home, south-west of downtown Montreal.

The 4-foot long snake, named Lady, apparently slid in between the cracks of a brick wall of a Willibrord Street house.

Animal control was onsite to capture her, but said she probably will stay in hiding for a while as they believe she recently ate.

Lady escaped from her owner’s nearby apartment last week.

Once captured, she will be confiscated, as a Verdun bylaw bans people from owning pythons in the borough.

Lady the python on Twitter

Shortly after the python escaped, a parody Twitter account was opened (by the way, the python is bilingual).

The description? “Eater of cats. Toilets dreamer. I’m adorable.”
