WINNIPEG — Convicted child abductor, Kevin Maryk is back in court Monday and could be facing more jail time for separate charges.
Maryk has pleaded guilty to a separate charge of sexual assault. The sentencing is expected Monday morning.
He made national headlines after taking off to Mexico with his two children, Abby and Dominic Maryk in 2008. He kept them hidden there for years, before police finally found them in a townhouse in Guadalajara 2012.
TIMELINE: From abduction to justice, the story of the Maryk children
In June 2014, he pleaded guilty to two counts of abduction. He was sentenced to four years in prison, but with credit for time already served awaiting trial and sentencing, his prison term was reduced to 374 days.
The children are now living in Winnipeg with their mother.
