AJAX, Ont. – Police say a 25-year-old man from Ajax, Ont., is facing a number of charges after allegedly forcing a woman into the sex trade.
Durham Regional police say the man met the victim on social media last year and forced her to work for him using threats and intimidation.
These allegedly included showing her a handgun.
Police say the victim was able to escape the sex trade this past March and reported her experience in May.
Police say they arrested the man on Tuesday morning at a Toronto hotel in the company of a sex worker and say they want to ensure there are no other victims.
