Youth arrested in death of Alberta First Nation resident

A Stoney Nakoda youth has been arrested in connection with the death of a 21-year-old resident on the Alberta First Nation.

The body of resident Kori Wesley was found Sunday, Aug. 7 near the Chiniki Rodeo Grounds, west of Calgary. Tylen Tray Poucette, 20, was arrested the same day and charged with second-degree murder.

RCMP said Friday the youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested in Red Deer on Thursday.

The youth is in custody awaiting a judicial interim release hearing, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
