Cochrane RCMP said Monday the death of a 21-year-old man whose body was found Sunday afternoon has been deemed suspicious.
The body was found on the ground near the Stoney Nakoda’s Chiniki Rodeo Grounds west of Calgary on Sunday at about 3:18 p.m., according to RCMP.
The major crimes unit, Cochrane RCMP and Calgary Medical Examiner’s office are investigating the cause of death as police said “preliminary findings” suggest the death is suspicious. No further details were provided.
An autopsy is set for Aug. 9.
