Heavy rain in Saskatchewan over the past few weeks is impacting lentil and pea crops.
According to the weekly provincial crop report from Saskatchewan Agriculture, wet conditions across much of the lentil-producing regions is affecting quality.
Fifteen per cent of the lentil crop is rated excellent, 47 per cent good, 26 per cent fair, 10 per cent poor and two per cent very poor.

Pea crops are also suffering from too much moisture, with 30 per cent rated excellent, 52 per cent good, 16 per cent fair and two per cent poor.
Harvesting of those crops, along with winter wheat, is expected to start in some areas in the coming week.
Other crops are reported to be in good condition, however lodging has been reported in some crops along with flooding stress.
Between 50 and 100 millimetres of rain fell in some parts of the province, with the Elfros area reporting upwards of 200 mm.
There was also damage to some crops due to hail and disease in the past week.

Farmers have made progress with the hay harvest, with 50 per cent baled or put into silage and another 20 per cent cut and ready for baling.
The five-year average for this time of year is 55 per cent baled or put into silage.
Hay quality is rated five per cent excellent, 70 per cent good, 24 per cent fair and one per cent poor.
