A Calgary man was killed in a motorcycle crash near Canmore, Alta. on Sunday afternoon.

RCMP said the motorcyclist was travelling westbound on Highway 1A near the Yamnuska day use area when he crossed the centre line and collided with another vehicle.

The motorcycle driver, a 57-year-old Calgary man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were taken to hospital as a precaution.

Investigators don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the collision, but it’s unknown if speed may have been.

Highway 1A was closed temporarily as RCMP investigated.

The name of the deceased is not being released by police.
