Surrey RCMP are investigating after shots were fired between two vehicles in the South Newton area on Monday night.
Mounties received reports of gunfire near 60 Avenue and 128 Street around 8 p.m.
Witnesses tell Global News they heard several shots and saw two cars speed away. Shell casings could also be seen on the street.
RCMP do not have a description of the vehicles involved.
Shortly after the shooting, in what may be an unrelated incident, a 21-year-old Surrey man showed up at hospital with a gunshot wound. His injury is not considered life-threatening.
He is known to police and that incident is believed to be targeted.
Surrey RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is leading this investigation.
