An elderly man, hit by a vehicle in a crosswalk in Brooks over the weekend, died of his injuries on Friday, according to RCMP.
Mounties said the 83-year-old man was riding an electric mobility scooter when he was hit by a vehicle in the pedestrian crosswalk at 9 Avenue West and 3 Street West at around 1:30 p.m. near a Walmart in Brooks on Saturday, May 28.
RCMP allege the driver of the vehicle left the scene without being identified or providing any information.
The suspected vehicle is described as an older model car, faded red in colour.
The incident is still under investigation and RCMP are requesting the public’s help in solving the hit-and-run.
Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver involved is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
