MONTREAL – A 43-year-old Granby man is dead and two others injured following a collision between a Honda Civic and a Chevy, Friday evening in the Montérégie region.
The collision happened at around 7:30 p.m. at an intersection on de la Chute Road in Upton.
Police believe the driver of the Honda may have been attempting to make a left-hand turn and did not see the oncoming vehicle.
Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, said the driver’s sight may have been impeded by the sun.
The man in the Honda was rushed to hospital in critical condition and died of his injuries. His female passenger, also in her 40s, is in serious condition.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
