WINNIPEG — Family and friends of 60-year-old Catherine Curtis are continuing their search of the missing woman, after she was last seen leaving Grace Hospital on Monday morning.

A heavy search effort has been underway, with volunteer search groups scouring the area. Police dive teams and ground crews have also been dispatched throughout the week.  The missing persons unit remains on the case and Curtis’s family said they are not giving up hope.

“No answers yet. Could be quite frustrating for everyone but what we’re still doing is continuing the efforts and continuing the search,” said Michael DePeazer, Curtis’s son-in-law.

DePeazer said the search has primarily been concentrated in the St. James area but has also spread to other areas of the city the missing woman is known to frequent.

Curtis’ daughter Janelle DePeazer told Global News that her mother had been in hospital for anxiety and depression since April 13 but added that it was out of character for her to wander off and not return.

“What’s giving us the hope and the mechanism to cope is there’s so much love in the air,” DePeazer said and thanked community support and searches thus far.

Curtis is described as 5’4′ tall, with a thin build, 85 pounds with long white hair worn in a ponytail and blue eyes.
