A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in East Vancouver Tuesday night.
Vancouver Police said a woman was crossing mid-block on East 41st Avenue near Kerr Street at around 9:30 p.m. when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle. She died at the scene.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
The cause of the collision is now the focus of the police investigation.
East 41st Avenue between Rupert Street and Kingsway was closed to traffic as investigators collected evidence.
This is Vancouver’s third pedestrian fatality in 2016.
