Saskatchewan election results 2016: Sask. Party wins Arm River riding

A look at Arm River, one of the 61 provincial electoral districts in the 2020 Saskatchewan election.

Greg Brkich of the Sask. Party has won the Arm River riding with 6,006 votes beating out the NDP’s Denise Leduc who got 1,402 votes.

Boundaries: Arm River generally comprises the rural area between Saskatoon and Regina along Highway 11, along with the areas between Big Quill Lake and Last Mountain Lake. The largest communities in Arm River are Elbow, Craik, Outlook, Davidson and Raymore.

Last Election: Brkich defeated NDP candidate Eric Skonberg by over 3300 votes, 74-24 per cent.

History: Most of this area is part of the former riding of Arm River-Watrous, which elected Brkich in 2003, 2007 and 2011. Prior to that, the historical riding of Arm River was held by Brkich in 1999, Liberal Harvey McLane in 1995, and Progressive Conservative Gerald Muirhead from 1978 to 1995.
