An 85-year-old man has died of his injuries after being struck by a car in Vancouver on Monday morning.
The elderly man was crossing 49th Avenue at Fraser Street at about 9 a.m. when he was hit in the crosswalk by a vehicle making a left turn off of Fraser.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with a head injury but died of his injuries a day later.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The investigation is still ongoing but the VPD collision unit said speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident.
This is Vancouver’s third traffic-related fatality of 2016.
