MONTREAL – The Montreal Alouettes have signed all-star defensive end John Bowman to a new one-year deal.

Bowman led the CFL with 19 quarterback sacks last season and added a career-high 46 defensive tackles, leading to his second career CFL all-star selection.

The six-foot-three, 250-pound lineman is Montreal’s franchise leader in sacks with 102.

“We are obviously ecstatic that John has decided to continue his playing career with the Alouettes,” general manager and head coach Jim Popp said in a release.

“John’s hard work on and off the field continues to pay dividends for him and our organization during his storied career.”

In 145 career-games, all with Montreal, the New York native has 336 defensive tackles and has forced 23 fumbles.
