The NHL all-star game rosters were announced on Wednesday, a who’s who of stars. But the most talked about player attending remains a guy still looking for his first goal this season.

John Scott was voted in by fans as the captain of Team Pacific. Despite only dressing in eleven games this season, 33 year old Scott will attend the annual classic in Nashville later this month.

When voting opened the 6-foot-8, 260-pound forward tried to deflect the attention away, but now he’s embracing the idea.

“It’s nice my team accepts that, they’re really behind me I think, so, I’m having fun with it,” said Scott. “If it is my last year it’s a good way to go out. Trying to put that all-star game on my resume and say hey, I went there, doesn’t matter the circumstances.”

“He’s dreamed of being in the all-star game the same way everyone else has, for him to get that chance is so cool,” said Coyotes captain Shane Doan.

Scott fully intends to enjoy the weekend, bring his wife and kids along for the ride.
