A 40-year-old Lethbridge man has been arrested after a late-night stabbing in the city’s south end.
Police said they responded to a 911 call involving a man who’d been stabbed in an alley at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday night. When officers arrived at the 500 block of 6 Avenue South, they found two men, including the one with serious stab wounds.
Police said the investigation so far suggests they were involved in a “physical altercation with each other” that ended with a 32-year-old Lethbridge man being stabbed with a knife. The victim was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital by EMS, then to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary by STARS Air Ambulance with life-threatening injuries. Police tell Global News the man was upgraded to stable condition Wednesday morning.
The suspect remained in police custody.
