KELOWNA — Central Okanagan Search and Rescue says a couple lost in the woods did the right thing by calling for help right away.
The man and woman were cross-country skiing in the Kelowna-Nordic area off McCulloch Road Sunday when they became disoriented after leaving the main trail.
The pair called for help using a cell phone. RCMP responded and called Central Okanagan Search and Rescue for back-up.
The couple was found in good health by the RCMP.
Dave Crawford of Central Okanagan Search and Rescue says the pair did the right by thing by calling for help because it was getting dark.
“They were lucky they had cell phone range. RCMP were able to get a ping on their location,” says Crawford.
