Rockets defeat Winterhawks on U.S. roadtrip

Kelowna beat Portland Friday. The two teams meet again Saturday in Oregon.

PORTLAND, OR – Tyson Baillie scored twice Friday night to help the Kelowna Rockets defeat the Portland Winterhawks 5-4.

Nick Merkley had a goal and three assists. Calvin Thurkauf and Rodney Southam picked up the other points for Kelowna. The Rockets took three goals on power plays.

Jackson Whistle was on net for Kelowna.

The victory improves Kelowna’s reocrd to 12-5-0-0 on the season while Portland fell to 7-8-2-1.

The two teams meet again Saturday night in Portland.

Kelowna returns home Nov 11th for a special Remembrance Day game at 2:05 p.m. as they play host to Vancouver.
