WINNIPEG — Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger sees some good news in the new federal cabinet.
Selinger says it’s a positive that Manitoba has two ministers in the inner circle — Jim Carr in natural resources and Maryann Mihychuk in employment.

He says the portfolios are important to Manitoba’s economy and points out both ministers have served in the provincial legislature.
Selinger says he is looking forward to a first ministers conference where all premiers will meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Trudeau has promised to renew the meetings, which former prime minister Stephen Harper avoided.
Trudeau has also promised to revamp health-care funding to the provinces, and Selinger says he is looking forward to seeing how that commitment rolls out.
