HALIFAX – Thousands of Nova Scotians flocked to advance polls between October 9 and 12.
Elections Canada released a detailed riding-by-riding breakdown of advance poll turnouts for Nova Scotia today.
A total of 113,447 people cast ballots across 11 ridings this year. These are preliminary numbers that Elections Canada says can’t be validated until the votes are counted on election day, October 19.
In 2011, a total of 62,976 ballots were cast in advance polls in Nova Scotia.
Halifax West had the largest number of voters, with 14,083 ballots cast.
In Canada, 3,633,422 people voted in the advance polls this past weekend. That’s a 71% increase over 2011, when 2.1 million advance ballots were cast.
