Manitoba Moose finalize roster ahead of season opener

WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Moose made three moves on Friday to finalize their roster for opening night.

The Moose announced the signing of forward Jiri Fronk to a standard AHL contract while they also signed forwards Darren Kramer and Kellan Lain to professional tryout offers.

Fronk, 21, attended rookie camp with the Winnipeg Jets and last season scored 29 goals and 21 assists in 60 games with Cedar Rapids of the United States Hockey League.  It’ll be the first professional season for the native of Louny, Czech Republic.

Kramer, 23, tallied five goals and 12 assists with the AHL’s Binghamton Senators. He was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Draft.

Lain, 26, has NHL experience with the Vancouver Canucks after playing nine games during the 2013-14 season.

The Moose open their first season back in the AHL on Friday night in Toronto against the Marlies starting at 6 o’clock.
