TORONTO — A 20-year-old Toronto man is facing four charges, including attempted murder, after he allegedly stabbed a woman in the face on a pathway in the city.
Police responded to a call for a stabbing in the Eglinton Avenue West and Allen Road area just before 8 p.m. on Sunday.
A 27-year-old woman was walking along a pathway when she was allegedly approached by the suspect.
Police said the man then pulled out a “sharp object” and attacked the woman in the face before leaving the area.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the alleged attack.
Police said members of the public provided “invaluable assistance” with the investigation.
Ruben Stolove, 20, of Toronto, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.
Stolove is scheduled to appear in court in Toronto on Friday.
