WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ newest quarterback, Tajh Boyd, made his first appearance at practice on Wednesday. Boyd was acquired in a trade with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for a conditional draft pick.

Boyd played his college football at Clemson and in 2014 set an Orange Bowl record for total yards in a game

He was selected by the New York Jets in the 6th round (213th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft. He appeared in two pre-season games throwing one touchdown pass but he was released before the start of the season.

Boyd then went on to play in the new Fall Experimental Football League with the Florida Blacktips and the Boston Brawlers.

Last spring he signed a one year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers but was released in training camp.
