WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers made a trade on Wednesday to upgrade their quarterback position with the long term injury to Drew Willy. The Bombers acquired Matt Nichols for a conditional 7th round draft pick. But just who is the Bombers newest quarterback?

Played football, baseball and basketball in high school.

Holds 14 different Eastern Washington school records including touchdown passes with 96.  Named the 2007 and 2009 Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Played with current Blue Bombers defensive end Greg Peach at Eastern Washington.

Undrafted in the NFL but attended Dallas Cowboys training camp in 2010.  He appeared in 2 exhibition games completing 10 of his 16 pass attempts for 81 yards and two interceptions. Was released in August of 2010.

Signed with the Edmonton Eskimos in October of 2010 and spent the remainder of the season on the practice roster.

Spent the 2011 season on the injured list.

Suffered a gruesome broken leg in the 2012 East Division Semifinal.

Returned in 2013 only to suffer a torn ACL in his right knee in the pre-season forcing him to miss the entire season.

Current contract expires after the 2015 season.
