WEST KELOWNA — A late night fire in West Kelowna completely destroyed a trailer in the Paradise Mobile Home Park on Boucherie Road. A man fell asleep in one of the bedrooms with a lit cigarette, which ignited the mattress and quickly spread to the rest of the home.
Four people were inside when the fire started at roughly 9:45 pm.
One of the men inside took matters into his own hands, heading into the fiery room where the blaze started, rescuing the sleeping man.
The other two people made it out on their own accord. No injuries were reported.
The home was completely destroyed. Fire crews can’t confirm if the owners had insurance.
