SASKATOON – A police officer is in hospital after being injured while taking a suspect into custody just before noon Saturday in Saskatoon. The 36-year-old constable was at a residence in the 100-block of Avenue I South attempting to arrest an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Police say the male suspect actively resisted as the officer went to make the arrest, resulting in a physical confrontation. The seven-year veteran of the Saskatoon Police Service was able to eventually take the suspect into custody but was injured in the struggle.
