Commuters can now purchase Compass tickets from vending machines at three SkyTrain stations.
Translink spokesperson Jennifer Morland says the transit authority activated Compass vending machines at three locations on the Skytrain system – at Lougheed, Braid and Sapperton stations.
Morland says they will be turning them on at other stations each week as part of the phased roll-out of the Compass Card.
The card itself will be made available for purchase in October. The card has already been fully functional on the West Coast Express since July.
The beleaguered $194-million Compass Card program has been mired in delays.

Earlier this month, it was announced that starting Oct. 5 a temporary, one-fare system will be implemented for commuters using buses and HandyDART regardless of how many zones they travel. This change, according to TransLink, is to get people used to the new tapping system.
Morland says buying a Compass ticket today would mean commuters will still have to tap on and off. But after Oct. 5, there will be no need to tap off on buses.
