Assiniboine Park changes lineup for outdoor movie series

WINNIPEG – Assiniboine Park is looking for help picking a film to show in it’s popular “Movies in the Park” series, after one of the planned features became unavailable.

The park is asking the public to choose between two super hero adventures to show August 21 at 9:15 p.m. The choices are ‘Thor: The Dark World’ or ‘Iron Man 3’. You can make your pick on the park’s Facebook page.

The film originally set to play in that time slot, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ became unavailable due to a later than expected release date, the park said Tuesday. It’s one of a couple of changes to the popular “Movies in the Park” series.

Sci fi fans will be able to see the space adventure ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ this Friday under the stars at Assiniboine Park. ‘Guardians’ will replace ‘Tomorrowland’ in the 9:15 p.m. time slot, as Disney had delayed the release of the film.
