REGINA – The City of Regina has been taking a lot of heat for the “enthusiasm” of its parking enforcement recently, which is prompting a shift from enforcement to education.

Due to a significant number of complaints from residents about parking enforcement, some parking enforcement staff will soon be reassigned as parking ambassadors.

Parking ambassadors will answer questions about parking and also pass out pamphlets with parking rules on them to try and increase awareness around the city.

The ambassador program will run for six months depending on the success of the program. Drivers are reminded that despite the shift in focus from enforcement to education, parking enforcement will still be handing out tickets.
