Two people are in hospital after a speeding vehicle slammed into a parked car in Surrey.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 14000 block of 68th Avenue. The force of the collision caused six other cars to spill onto a home’s front yard. The damage was bad enough that firefighters had to cut one of the passengers out from their vehicle.
BC Ambulance Service says one of the people in hospital is in life-threatening condition.
Nearby residents told Global News they’ve repeatedly asked the city for speed bumps in the area.
“My parents had actually just come in,” said Ravi Sandhu, whose front lawn was filled with the crashed vehicles this morning.
“If they were a minute later, they could have been hit by the car as well. Several times we’ve asked them that people are going too fast and they should do something about it.”
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
