WATCH: A woman in B.C. claims her baby girl is the daughter of a multi-millionaire who was killed in a particularly gruesome murder. He died without a will, leaving an estimated $50-million estate. But there could be other potential heirs demanding their share as well. Robin Gill reports.
The alleged love child of a murdered West Vancouver millionaire would not be the man’s sole heir if the paternity test proves positive.
A Chinese woman claims her baby daughter has claim to the fortune of a murdered millionaire Gang Yuan and a DNA sample has now been ordered.
It was thought this child would be Gang’s sole heir and would inherit his entire estate, but a statement from lawyer Chris Johnson, on behalf of the Gang family, states that to date, several children have been DNA tested and the results have confirmed Gang’s paternity.
Gang’s body was found chopped into more than 100 pieces in late April. A 54-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder.
Contending she is Gang’s former lover and the mother of his child, Xuan Yang argues her child is legally entitled to inherit the man’s estimated $50-million estate.
“The family takes no issue with this claim of paternity, and since the tragic murder of Gang Yuan they have cooperated fully with this claim, including facilitating DNA testing,” said Johnson in the statement.
“The Order obtained was by consent. In fact, the family did not view this litigation as necessary, given their position that they wish to facilitate such testing. The late Mr. Gang Yuan fathered several children.”

Gang died without a will, meaning all children who complete DNA testing, which validates paternity, will inherit their share of Gang’s estate.
Xuan has previously described a love affair with Gang that lasted several weeks, after they met in Beijing. They took vacations in Las Vegas, Miami and Mexico before Xuan gave birth in California.
She has put forward text messages that Gang was excited about the birth of the girl and stated in court documents the two were planning a life together.
