KELOWNA – A Kelowna senior is proving a little tenacity goes a long way. Margaret Wilkinson bought two tickets at the Kelowna greyhound station in early December for nearly $300. A week later, still 5 days before the trip, she had to cancel due to health problems.
When Margaret went back to the depot she says she was denied a refund on site but was told her request would be passed on. A month later she’d still heard nothing. She made phone call after phone call for months and still got nowhere.
“Why they turn around and handle their business this way it’s ridiculous,” she says.
Greyhound says it didn’t receive Margaret’s request until March, and had no record of any previous complaints. The company says once it received the request it was reviewed and approved within the normal 6-8 week processing time.
By the end of June, Margaret finally received her cheque in the mail, but whole heartedly believes if she hadn’t kept pushing and calling she wouldn’t have seen a dime.
