Same thief believed to have targeted 2 Prince Albert stores

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Police have released surveillance photos in hopes of identifying a suspect after two thefts last week in Prince Albert, Sask. Investigators believe the same individual is responsible for both crimes.

The first theft occurred on June 24. Just before 10 p.m., officers were called to a store in the 2600-block of 2nd Avenue West.

A man entered the business and requested lottery tickets. The suspect then asked the clerk for cigarettes and grabbed the tickets when the employee had turned.

The Caucasian suspect, approximately five-foot seven, fled the store on foot. He was wearing a blue jacket and a hat.

Police were called to a similar complaint the following day at around 9 p.m. On June 25, a man entered a store in the 2900-block of 2nd Avenue West and asked for lottery tickets. The suspect then selected some groceries, returned to the till and stole the lottery tickets.

The suspect fled the store heading southbound wearing a red and black Rockstar Vodka hat, a baggy white shirt, grey sweat pants and black shoes.

The amount of lottery tickets stolen has not been released.
