RCMP say a police incident has ended in Athabasca, with one male found dead inside a home.
Early Monday evening, RCMP responded to a domestic disturbance complaint at a home on Cornwall Drive in Athabasca. Officers responding heard a single gunshot as they arrived.
The RCMP Emergency Response Team was deployed from Edmonton, while nearby residents were asked to stay inside their homes.
An RCMP Crisis Negotiator was called to the scene but could not make contact with anyone inside. The Emergency Response Team then entered the home and found the deceased male. He was the only person in the residence at the time. RCMP are not releasing any details on the deceased.
